My first book launch

November 12, 2013

Planning the launch of your first book is probably one of the most exciting things on the first book journey. Not only does it seal the deal in what is often a long and tiresome process, but it also heralds the time when your big work goes out into the real world: into libraries and bookshops, schools and handbags, bedside tables and home bookshelves.

Two months ago, Sarah Tarca, editor of Girlfriend magazine, launched mine at Kinokuniya in Sydney. It was one of the most exciting nights of my life. I wore a big poofy dress that matched the cover, served loads of food and sparkling wine, and celebrated with my nearest and dearest. Big love to all that came, purchased books, gave me flowers, and shared snaps from the night. I was horribly sick and on antibiotics, but you wouldn’t know it by my smile.
